Summer & Family Week!

Happy June, everyone!!

We are both thrilled, and slightly in disbelief, that we are already in the month of JUNE and that the annual Dominick Family Week is upon us! We had about 20-25 Dominick family members arrive on Friday and are with us throughout the week – it’s a great and fun way for us to ease into the season and to share this wonderful place with other people that hold it near and dear to their hearts!

The staff has been busy with numerous projects — finishing up the Big Buffalo cabin (for real!) has been high up on the list, getting all the horses shoed (thanks to the shoers that come every year over Memorial Day weekend), clearing trails, getting all of the cabins cleaned and made up, and so much more! I think we can finally say that we’re about ready for our first guests to arrive! We picked up ALL of our flowers today to be planted which should add the wonderful finishing touches. 

The snow melt continues to keep us on our toes as this is just about as high as we have ever seen the water rise – we spent several days last week preparing sand bags and setting them down around some of our cabins that are closer to the river just as a precaution! As you can see, we are definitely seeing greener grass and land down by us but there’s still a fair amount of snow up in the mountains, so as we keep warming up, the levels keep rising….

We’re still seeing some more wildlife at this time of year but it has definitely been slowing down — there is a moose and her baby that are currently living by the hayfields – they have been so fun to watch over the last couple of weeks! 

We are only a day or two away from officially “launching” our online store!! We’re just finishing up a few last details and then the doors will be open for shopping — we encourage you to check it out and gear up for the summer! It has just about everything that our in person gift shop here at the 7D has to offer, and we’ll continue to add things that may not yet be up there over the next weeks and months. 

That’s all for now – wrapping up this post at 4pm MT means that I can officially say that there’s less than 1 week to go until week 1!! We’re looking forward to another wonderful summer and hope you are too.
