Seems fitting that as I finally get around to writing this entry, we woke up with FROST on the ground!!
I think that most of us are asking ourselves, “How is it already September?! Where did the summer go??” We have settled into our “adult only” weeks now and are in Week #13 of 14 guest weeks! Hard to believe that our season is almost coming to a close.
We have had a wonderful summer and 2017 season and are so thankful to all of our guests and staff that have joined us this year. From repeat guests that join us every year or every other year to first timers – we have truly had a wonderful time with everyone and are already looking forward to the seasons ahead.
So what happens here at the 7D at this time of the year?
It’s around this time that we start closing up the place for the winter! Wranglers start to pull the shoes off of the horses that are no longer being ridden, power wash all of those blankets that have been sitting underneath the saddles….housekeepers pull everything out of the cabins and wash linens to be stored in bins for the winter….the kitchen cleans out the leftovers and puts everything away so that it can’t be gotten into!
Beyond that, this is often the time that staff gets to get a little more time to breathe and enjoy beautiful Sunlight Basin! We’re looking forward to cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and more wildlife out on the prowl. We’ll keep you posted on what we see!
That’s all for now – more soon!
